We are pleased to welcome WordPress.com and Tumblr as the newest members of Tech Against Terrorism. We have had the pleasure to support WordPress.com and Tumblr throughout their participation in the Tech Against Terrorism Mentorship Programme, and look forward to continue working with them to counter terrorist use of the internet whilst respecting human rights and freedom of expression. Throughout the Mentorship Programme, WordPress.com and Tumblr have also shown their commitment to increase transparency and accountability towards their users, something which we at Tech Against Terrorism will continue to support them with.
In joining our membership, WordPress.com and Tumblr have signed the Tech Against Terrorism Pledge. Our Pledge is based on internationally recognised norms and aims to promote responsible industry practices with regards to online counterterrorism efforts and ensuring that the protection of human rights and counterterrorism efforts are complementary and mutually reinforcing goals.
"Automattic is proud to join Tech Against Terrorism to help limit terrorist use of the internet. We are passionate about making the web a better place and hope this partnership will help create safer spaces online, including our WordPress.com and Tumblr communities.”
