ICT4Peace, in cooperation with the Vietnam Governments’s Computer Emergency Response Teams (VNCert) organised on 12 and 13 October 2017 the 2nd Senior Level Cybersecurity Policy and Diplomacy Workshop for CLMV Countries (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam) in Hanoi. The first workshop for CLMV countries was held in Vientiane, Laos in 2016.
The objective of these workshops is to develop and adopt norms of responsible and peaceful behaviour in cyberspace. The workshops are an integral part of the series of Cybersecurity and Diplomacy workshops organised by ICT4Peace for all ASEAN countries, in cooperation with the Government in Singapore in 2015, the Royal Thailand Government in 2016 and again with the Government of Singapore in 2017.
A full description of the ICT4Peace cybersecurity policy and diplomacy capacity building program, which started with a workshop in 2014 in Bogota in cooperation with the Organisation of American States (OAS), can be found here.
The workshop in Hanoi was opened by the Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Hung of the Ministry of Telecom and H.E. Ms. Wendy Matthews, Ambassador of New Zealand and Dr. Daniel Stauffacher. President of ICT4Peace. This workshop was financially supported by the Governments of New Zealand, Australia and the ICT4Peace Foundation.
The participants were government officials, diplomats and representatives of national Certs. The lecturers were Dr. Eneken Tikk, Dr. Mika Kerttunen, Senior Advisors, ICT4Peace, Mr. Adli Wahid, First and Dr. Daniel Stauffacher, President of ICT4Peace.
