Adam Southey Nov 22, 2022 2:00:35 PM
We are pleased to welcome Niantic as the newest member of Tech Against Terrorism. We have had the pleasure to support Niantic throughout its participation in the Tech Against Terrorism Mentorship Programme, and look forward to continue working with Niantic to counter terrorist use of the internet whilst respecting human rights and freedom of expression. Throughout the Mentorship Programme, Niantic has also shown its commitment to increase transparency and accountability towards their users, something which we at Tech Against Terrorism will continue to support them with.
In joining our membership, Niantic has signed the Tech Against Terrorism Pledge. Our Pledge is based on internationally recognised norms and aims to promote responsible industry practices with regard to online counterterrorism efforts whilst ensuring that the protection of human rights and counterterrorism efforts are complementary and mutually reinforcing goals.
"Niantic is honored to become an official member of Tech Against Terrorism. We are committed to providing enjoyable, yet safe experiences for our Players and becoming a member will help us further this goal. We look forward to working with Tech Against Terrorism and our peers to create a safer internet for everyone."
