Tech Against Terrorism and the Brookings Institution invite you to a closed webinar convening cross-sector experts to initiate discussion and find ways to use machine learning, data analytics, and AI to the use of the internet for terrorist purposes. The webinar is being organised as part of Tech Against Terrorism’s Data Science Network.

Background: the Data Science Network

In March 2018, Tech Against Terrorism launched the Data Science Network in partnership with the Montreal Institute of Genocide Studies at Concordia University. The network will convene experts to promote practical ways to deploy data-driven approaches in identifying and tackling terrorist use of internet technologies. Specifically, the Data Science Network will identify ways to practically implement technological solutions on small tech platforms, either through building tools or by re-purposing existing solutions for deployment on small tech platforms.

Tech Against Terrorism is an initiative launched and supported by the UN Counter-Terrorism Executive Directorate (UN CTED) pursuant to UN Security Council Resolutions. We support the global tech sector in improving its response to terrorist use of the internet through outreach, knowledge sharing, and capacity building. As an initiative, we also cooperate with the Global Internet Forum to Counter Terrorism, a coalition formed by Facebook, Google, Twitter, and Microsoft.
