Transparency is an increasingly prevalent and important topic within the tech industry – but also is becoming ever more so outside it. For our new 2020 Tech Against Terrorism & Global Internet Forum to Counter Terrorism (GIFCT) e-learning series, this session will look at current transparency reporting practices within the tech sector, how they have evolved, and where they will go next. This webinar is targeted at sharing best practice with smaller tech companies who want to publish transparency reports that reflect a respect for users’ rights in a manner that is not overly burdensome. This session will also be insightful for professionals across the tech policy and counterterrorism sphere. Leading experts from the GIFCT, tech platforms, and civil society will share their insights on some of the benefits and challenges involved in reporting, as well as offer ideas on best practices that could support tech platforms to reach a higher industry standard.
